Japan precious wood
In the nature world, wood exists as the most abundant material and hold the most pervasive symbolism.
The belied that wood is sacred has been found worldwide since ancient times, among various peoples, cultures and religions.
Although woods is also regarded as a familiar existence, since B.C., people have considered that wood has a magnificent powers and was regarded it as symbols of central axis, life, fertility and origin.
Furthermore, wood is directly linked to our lifestyles, and it is widely used in foods, medicines and fuel, as well as in the crafting of musical instrument and paper goods among other applications.
As such, wood is an indispesable necessity for humans.
Therefore, with the danger of global warming ever-increasing in recent years, it is our hope to yet further expand awareness of the charm of wood, and of the integral presence of trees.
We humbly wish that you too, will hold dear the precious existence of wood.
Mt. Koya wood
Mount Koya (高野山, Kōyasan) is the center of Buddhism, an important Buddhist sect which was introduced to Japan in 805 by Kobo Daishi (also known as Kukai), one of Japan's most significant religious figures.
Kiso wood
The Kiso Valley (木曽路, Kisoji) is located in Nagano Prefecture, and runs alongside the mountains of the Central Alps. An ancient 70 km trade route called the Kisoji was developed along the valley and served as a very important means of commerce in the area.
Kumano
Kumano City is located along the former Iseji pilgrimage route, which connected the Kumano shrines with Ise. Only isolated sections of the route have been preserved to this date.
Yoshino
Mount Yoshino (吉野山, Yoshinoyama) in Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture, is Japan's most famous cherry blossom spot. It features over 30,000 cherry trees planted around the slopes which visitors can admire as they walk along the roads that lead up the mountain.
Ise Jingu Wood
The Inner Shrine (内宮, Naikū) is one of the two main shrines making up the Ise Shrines in Ise City.
